Do you have a catalog of frames or component parts that I can order from?
At this time, all of our products are custom manufactured exclusively for our customers based on their designs; however, Carving Craft is currently looking into a catalog in response to high demand for unique frames, manufactured in the United States, with a level of quality that Carving Craft is known for.
What kind of wood do you use and where does it come from?
We use soft maple, hard maple, poplar, and mahogany. Our lumber is grown here in the United States,
mostly in the Northeast - by farmers who replant as they timber.
Can I provide my own material for a job?
Yes we are happy to work with a customer's own materials (COM). We also have good relationships with many lumber and "squares" vendors and can provide the stock for you.
Where is your manufacturing facility located?
All of our carvings and turnings are done in Hickory, NC. Our customers demand a level of quality and
turnaround they cannot receive from imported components.
Who are your customers?
We work with furniture manufacturers, architects, cabinet makers and other businesses that implement simple to complex wood carvings in their products or home installations. We value our distribution relationships with partner companies and do not currently work directly with end-consumers .
Do you make finished furniture?
No. We manufacture the exposed wood components for high-end furniture manufacturers. But we are happy to refer you to our customers who do manufacture furniture for you to purchase.
Can you make custom carvings from my drawings?
Yes, a full scale drawing or accurately scaled drawing with dimensions is preferred. We can also work from a sample you would provide. Additional information such as species of wood and quantity would be required as needed.
Can you manufacture carved millwork for a home or business?
Yes.
Our shop prides itself in our ability to create or manufacture
architectural elements that are used in some of the most prestigious
homes in America. We also welcome the opportunity to create
architectural elements for businesses of all sizes and houses of
worship.
Are you a subsidiary of a larger furniture company?
No.
We are a privately held company. Since1959, we have been owned by the
Fuller and Whitener families, both of Hickory, NC. The family
involvement continues with second and third generation members of both
families being involved in the operation and growth of Carving Craft,
Inc. An owner of our company is always only a phone call away.
